22 OCT 2015. Mingkaman South-Sudan. Arodan Aguot, 24 years old, has two kids and she is due to deliver her third kid. Her TBA (Traditional Birth Assistant) is the mother of her husband. She is part of the host community of Mingkaman, who are the people they were already living in the area before the crisis and the creation of the PoC (Protection of Civilians). She will deliver at UNFPA as she was suggested by the local pharmacy, however she delivere the prvious babies at home. She currently suffer of hypertension and she can hardly walk. She should be hospitalized but she has to take care of other kids and she cannot leave kids alone at home; the husband is the kattle camp. She says that her bigget worry for her kids is school as evertyhing else is improving. She state also that women has to do everything (collecting food, water, firewood) and men are not doing enough, but it is really difficult to challange this. She would have more kids as among the many, maybe some of them will take care of her while old South-Sudan has one of the highest child and maternal mortality rate in the world. 1 women out of 30 risks of dieing for reasons related to pregancy and delivering. 1 child out of 10 dies before reaching the age of 5 for reasons related to deseas easily preventable or curable; malnutrition is a key factor.
